tao's Electoral FAQ
Everyting you need to know about the 2025 staff Committee Elections
Why do Commission staff in Brussels have to vote again for the Staff Committee ?
The quorum was not reached in the first round.
What is the quorum needed for the first round of the elections?
To validate the elections, a minimum participation threshold (quorum) must be met.
The quorum for the first “tour” is extremely high, as 2/3 of all the staffers have to vote.
While lowering this requirement could make elections more realistic, the quorum is set by the Staff Regulations, leaving no room for adjustment at this stage.
What’s next for the second round?
According to the rules, in the second round, the new quorum will be 50 % of the total eligible voters, meaning that we will still need 11.471 of the 22.943 Commission colleagues based in Brussels (which includes the Representation offices at the Member States)
Who needs to vote now?
No matter if you have voted at the so-called “first tour”, that vote is no longer counted.
ALL STAFF MEMBERS MUST VOTE AGAIN IN THIS SECOND ROUND !
What voting options do I have ?
You can vote in several ways :
✅ For a list (we clearly recommend TAO 😊)
✅ For individual candidates from one or multiple lists
✅ By casting a blank vote
All votes are valid and every vote counts.
How to vote?
The link to vote online will be available starting Tuesday, the 11th at 9:00 AM.
You will find it in :
✅ By clicking here
✅ All election banners on our website
✅ Email communications sent to staff
